I did choose to focus on gender and only made a passing mention of the history of racism, you’re right. The role of racism in the abortion debate is a topic I’m still learning about myself, and I felt like it deserved an entirely separate deep dive. I’m glad you highlighted the importance! Seems like you might have some expertise on this aspect of the history, specifically? I’d love to know if there are any pieces you recommend reading. :) It is certainly not as heavily covered as gender.
